Day 2
we went to our associations' place where our ancestor's tablets are placed...
it was a hive of activities when we reached...
it was a sea of red...
and many packer drinks...
food and candies...
i was amazed to learn bout PineApples today....
this is an pineapple plant
see the tiny growing pineapple?
pineapples are not that hard to grow... just chop of the head and put it in the soil... it can only be harvest once... and takes round a year to grow.... amazing huh... the Yishun Pineapple King in the past... he own BIG plot of plant and aches of pineapple fields...
ah.. the baby so cute... our photographer (he works for SPH - Chinese Dailys dept) was taking some nice shot....
lions dancing
it's a chinese tradition to invite lion dance trope to come and give us luck.... they will dance around before biting some vege, break it into individual pieces before spiting it out into the air. after which, they will peel the oranges and place them into random numbers which is believed to be lucky....
Yu Sheng Raw fish salad...
another of the chinese tradition, however, it's rather limited to our region only.... cheap vege will be shredded into thin strips and place on a plate... crackers, raw fish and sweet sauces are than pour on top of it. we will ÀÌ (pull? haha....) them into the air with words of good fortune and luck, wishing to raise our luck as high as possible... the raw fish signify a abundant year ahead...
the aftermath
after the Yu Sheng, we had a simple lunch...

we went to my father's uncle's house at seletar hill estate before heading to my 2nd sunt's falt in bishan...
