My Line of Work....

People have always been telling me that my kind of work is VERY dangerous... You'll never know how true it can be... ...

My work requires me to talk to nonsensical people. Frequently. I am also required to neutralize any threat to life and properties. Entertain people of unsound mind, and apprehend dangerous people.

Little did I realized that sometimes, the most dangerous things can happen, where it seems the most unlikely, and when you lease expect it.

There was a small fire in my office today. No fanciful Hollywood explosion. No Channel 8 drama. Just a small fire.

I was seated less than 50cm away from it... OMG... SCDF classified the fire as a C2 Accidental Short Circuit... (Phew...)

Having been to scene of fire before, (in person, NOT on TV, videos etc) I am fully aware of how dangerous an uncontrolled fire can be... Thankfully it was only a short circuit fire. The fire burn it self out after a very short while. The first thing on my mind at that point in time was to grab a fire extinguisher, which I did. Luckily it was not required.

Well, I am thankful that things happened the way it did. No body was hurt. Not much damages except for a blacken wall, damaged wires and maybe a malfunctioned air-con (it's the air-con wires after all).

We should be thankful for everyday we have. Cherish the ones we love. For we do not know, when something may happened, that might change our lives, forever...

Oh, please switch off all electrical appliances when not in use. Unplug the plug from the main power socket. Do not leave your electrical appliances on standby mode. Do not over load your power socket. Do not lay too many wires closely together. If your house is old, get your wires checked.

DO NOT PUT WATER ON ELECTRICAL FIRE.
